Welcome to the Case Studies Database

This database contains a list of case studies related to the museums, libraries and archives sector.

What do we mean by Case Studies?

Case Studies are a know-how tool. As such they will describe the sector’s experience in and evidence of effectively delivering services and outcomes.

Specifically, they will tell us the Story of projects or initiatives undertaken by the MLA Partnership or museums, libraries and archives organisations in terms of:

These stories will be primarily about how the sector delivers learning, community and economic outcomes.

Submitting a Case Study

If you are interested in submitting a case study to us, in the first instance please look at our template (also available in 'doc' format) on which our case studies are based and note the minimum data requirements. The more fields you can obtain data for, the broader the appeal of the case study. If you then wish to proceeded, please contact us (research@mla.gov.uk) and as appropriate, we will either provide you with an account to upload your case-study or we will upload it ourselves.

Searching the database

To search the list, use the search form on the left by

  1. clicking by Year, by Region, by Title or by Keyword
  2. entering search criteria
  3. clicking Search

Any combination of search criteria can be entered.
